What to expect during a Boiler Service
One of our engineers will visit your home and perform all the usual steps on a routine gas safety check list, but they will undertale a more specific gas appliance inspection with additional tests detailed in the manufacturer's instructions. The requirements vary depending on the appliance type and model.
Visual Inspection – to check the boiler still meets current standards and requirement and look for any signs of heat or distress, they will also test the effectiveness of the seals and gaskets and the cleanliness of the heat exchangers. They will also visually check the flame in your boiler.
Removal of the boiler casing – to check the boiler still meets current standards and requirements, they will check the appliances condition for signs of heat or distress, they will also test the effectiveness of the seals and gaskets and the cleanliness of the heat exchanger.
Flue check – the engineer will ensure there are no obstructions in the flue terminals and that the flue is safely fitted.
Combustion exhaust gas analysis - the engineer will assess the readings to ensure the appliance is burning gas safely.
Boiler fired up – this allows the engineer to check for any working faults.
You will then receive a service report, explaining their findings and what they have done. If you have any questions, please do not be afraid to ask the engineers and they will be happy to explain things and advise you accordingly.
If you feel that your boiler is not working as it should, then please do not wait for your annual service – please contact our offices and we can get an engineer to assess it for you.
